it doesn't matter how many times i say it or in how many different ways, life is short, and we all need to remember to stop, smile, and revel in the moments that we share with ourselves and with others. take time to sit outside, watch the sunset, breathe deeply, and smile. take it all in, the beauty of it all. because it doesn't matter how often you say it, how often i preach it, without the reminder of how precious life truly is everyday, those little moments that can mean something or make something can get lost in the shuffle.

don't let them.

there are so many things out there that are bigger than us, bigger than what we can imagine, bigger than what we want to imagine, that can make our everyday worries seem so worthless. it can happen at any second, whether or not you finished that paper or made it to that meeting, those things won't matter. whether you got that shiny new phone you wanted or whether your apartment is clean, the luxury of those worries can be taken away in an instant, and you will be reminded how petty everyone else's worries are. how easy they have it. how easy you used to have it. it can take the news of a stroke in the family, a death of a friend, the end of your life as you know it.

so embrace these moments. live them and take them in. drive with nowhere to go. blast the music. light a candle. smile. embrace every interaction. hug tightly. love deeply. sing at the top of your lungs. be sarcastic. make jokes. make love. dream. play a game. stare into someone else's eyes. let yourself feel. cry. scream. yell. laugh. start a movie, get interrupted for something better, and finish it later. get dirty. stay up all night. skinny dip. quote movies. take pictures. be honest. let it all go free. fall. accept. relax. enjoy. breathe.

don't let any second pass you by, any moment, any interaction go unnoticed, for life as we know it can change in an instant. all we have is now.
