day 1 away

so i have decided to try and take this blog in the direction of telling about my days this summer.

so yesterday was the start of my summer away from home. i woke up pretty early, feeling prepared and left for the airport. everything went smoothly as far as checking in and security goes, and i had plenty of time to relax at my gate. the flight was fine, just a little bit turbulent. for some reason i felt really quite claustrophobic but i got over it. air canada has these sweet little tv's for each passenger so that really helped to pass the time. i watched hes just not that into you...great cast, mediocre movie. and two episodes of flight of the conchords. i found myself loling and i dont think the people around me liked that. whatev.
so the flight was fine and i got off the plane, really needing to use the facilities, but decided id wait until after customs. it shouldnt take long, right? wrong.
i have never seen an airport line that long. ever. it was 14 winding rows back and forth across the expanse of the airport PACKED with people. on top of that it was boiling hot and uncomfortable, not to mention the constant french being spoken around me. it took me over an hour just to get to the customs agent. and of course he had to give me a hard time, asking me tons of questions, including "do you know the address of where you're staying?" trying to be confident i said "yes" and then he proceeded to ask me to tell him it. i didnt know it. i saved myself though. and i finally made it into the arms of corey, jackie, and joey.
we did a little tour of MTL, saw the houses, etc. and then got ready to go get jilli at the airport. after picking her up we met ades and had dinner at m:brgr , a burger place with an awesome atmosphere. i had a burger wrapped in lettuce. it was delicious. and we shared a piping hot cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. yummm.
then we went back to jackies house and met all their friends. everyone was so nice and welcoming.
we then came home and zonked out. on to another day here in mtl.

enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. lalala.
